Ardela Daniels is a registered psychologist with more than 20 years of nuclear industry experience in leadership effectiveness, organizational effectiveness, human performance, and safety culture. Her nuclear experience includes peer reviews and assistance in Japan, China, Russia, UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, Sweden, India and Brazil.

Roles and Responsibilities (list): In her current role, she works closely with utility executive teams and leadership teams at nuclear facilities to evaluate their performance and develop plans to achieve organizational excellence.

Ardela Daniels is a senior corporate evaluator at the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations (INPO) in Atlanta, Georgia. Ms. Daniels joined INPO in 2009. Ms. Daniels has more than 20 years of nuclear industry experience in leadership effectiveness, organizational effectiveness, human performance, and safety culture. In her current role, she works closely with utility executive teams and leadership teams at nuclear facilities to evaluate their performance and develop plans to achieve organizational excellence. Her nuclear experience includes peer reviews and assistance in Japan, China, Russia, UK, France, Spain, Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, Sweden, India and Brazil. Previously, as an INPO performance monitoring leader, Ms. Daniels was responsible for continuously monitoring the performance of ten assigned plants to identify and alleviate problems.

INPO, sponsored by the nuclear industry, is an independent, nonprofit organization whose mission is to promote the highest levels of safety and reliability to promote excellence in the operation of nuclear generation plants.

Prior to joining INPO, Ms. Daniels was organizational effectiveness manager at Diablo Canyon Power Plant. She has also worked at the WANO Paris Centre as the Head of the Professional and Technical Development Program. Before joining WANO, she was the Station Psychologist at Koeberg Nuclear Power Plant in Cape Town, South Africa.

A native of South Africa, Ardela earned a master’s degree in psychology from the University of Cape Town, and is licensed as a psychologist with the South African Health Professionals Council. She has Westinghouse PWR senior reactor operator certification, the Duquesne University Women’s Executive Leadership Program Certificate, and the International Executive Program Certificate from INSEAD in France. She holds board positions with Women In Nuclear and Organizational Change Alliance. She is an avid martial artist and earned her brown belt with Shotokan Karate.
